Our first egg!!!!!
What came first, the chicken or the egg. To be honest I don’t care. Our Queen B/Golden Girl laid her first egg while Ellie & Daddy were napping and I hand washing our laundry. We have reached a homesteading milestone!

All day Queen B was acting weird. She flew into the screen door to get my attention. She then hopped on top of the stroller to get closer to the pen window. Then flew into that as well! B also made a few sounds that sounded like she was pushing an egg threw. Mid afternoon B found a soft comfy spot in Scott’s shed atop his warriors sweatshirt to make her first attempt at egg laying, way to take one for the team Scott. She was in there all of 30 minutes with Neval close by outside, like a worried father/husband. When she was through she hopped off to show me her creation. There it was!! I was so excited I took the egg into the rv to refrigerate.

Having only 1 egg and 3 people to split it between, I felt the best way to share this treat was in some chocolate chip cookies!

I was right. They were amazing! I’m very proud of our little chicken as well as our little family farmstead.
