Apricot Pits and Seeds

Pits and seeds

Pits and seeds

For Mother’s Day last week I made my mom some apricot jam with some organic apricots I got from a local fruit stand. The pits I saved and placed in the sun for a little over a week to dry out. This morning Scott took a hammer to the pits and retrieved us a bakers dozen of apricot seeds. Most of them we are saving for later use, but we did take four and place them in some water and then into some moist soil in a mason jar at the back of our fridge. Scott says that he read that after about 6 months of fridge life we should have some rooted apricot seeds to plant. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.
