Overnight Tent trip

On Monday Anna, Elizabeth and I filled the explorer and took off to our land for most likely the last trip this month for us. Getting to the farmstead around 3pm we spent the afternoon setting up a permanent camping spot for our tent. This was also the first trip that the ground was dry enough for us to drive in past the driveway, making it much fast and easier to unload the truck. The feature image of this post is of a meadow near the farmstead and below are a couple of free five gallon buckets of cinder for the driveway that I scavenged on our way up.

These two buckets didn’t extend the drive any further than a couple of inches, but we figure if we bring a few buckets each trip before you know it we’ll be able to see the difference. Not having a lot of time this trip we didn’t make any huge improvements but we did plant a few more perennials.

A few more strawberry plants.

Here are two new strawberries plants that were added to the two we had planted on a previous trip. Anna also picked out a rosemary plant that was on sale the we planted in a small clearing near our campsite and about 100 ft. from the well.

Blueberries were also on sale and I found I nice full sun lit clear spot for the one plant I got for now. I am hoping that the acidity from the pine tree needles that blanket the area are sufficient in aiding the blueberries with the extra acidity they need. Before leaving we made sure to give everything a healthy watering and mulching hoping they survive the few weeks until we are able to return for our next trip.
